Packaging

Open publication - Free publishing - More title sequence

Here's the finished packaging. It was printed on Antique white paper, with tints printed on each layer with each layer getting darker with black paper used for the inside layer

On the most outer layer, two flaps are added on each side of the packaging creating a door. The 'door' is printed with an illustration of Marshal Applewhite, one of the cult leaders on it.

I really like how it turns out and the gradual change in colour seems to work well. However, there are a few problems with this packaging that I need to evaulate.

1. The outer layer was printed on two sides and the print didn't match quite perfectly so the doors don't line up with the packaging.

2. there isn't a latch or a lid on the top of the case so the inner case for the CD can actually fall out if the packaging is inside out.

3. The 'doors' don't close properly

PACKAGING NETS

Each layer of the packaging is simply tinted. The only printed design/illustration is on the most outer layer. Even that, there is little design on it. The more important part of the design are the actual packaging nets, The layers of the key holes and the 'door' .

the outer layer

this is the design on the outer layer of the packaging net. simple grunge print around the corners and my name and module code on the sides.

Packaging prototype

I wanted lots of layers for my packaging. It seems fitting to the theme of my animation.

I'm thinking.....

Instead of having a really complicated design on each of the layer of the packaging, it might be more effective if I just use simple designs that somehow link all the layers together.

I might use the muted tones of colour featured in my animation on these packaging. Each layer with a colour getting darker.

Art work with crop marks

And the booklet has been fixed in this one.

I printed the booklet off and one of the pages ( front page) was turned the wrong way round. So hopefully I will be able to print it off again tomorrow!

Photos

The quality looks a bit rubbish on this as I had to resize them to put on the blog....
