I've got a few directions my ideas can go into :
- Playing with the weird and wonderful collection in the museum. Instead of showing off the really obvious collections, use imagery of a less obvious exhibits. Make it really ambiguous to draw interests and curiosity. Could even be something freaky ( creepy crawlies, the scary fetus ei, the feeling of being in your mother's womb again ). Focus on enticing people with what the museum houses
- Focus on the adventure side of things. - inviting people to come on a voyage into the wild/ nature/ new world. to discover things!! Can expand on that and compare the NHM to a new world/planet/ undiscovered place needing to be explored
- or.....world to be RE-discovered
- Celebrating nature and our planet- can use facts to shock, awe, educate and entice people. and also quotes about nature said by famous scientists. Can illustrate and use type to do this. ( but then thats not really directly related to the museum).
- Similar to the first idea....show off what the museum has but make it more light hearted eg. ' come see our giant dinasaur..its xxx big!' ( more for kids?) points that make the museum special and unique
NB.just realising now that with this museum I am branding....there is not much competition at all.
but...
what makes the museum special and why people should visit ??
- to learn
- entertained
- discover new things
- it has a massive whale
reasons why people actually want to visit the natural history museum......
- to see all the big stuffed animals
- the beautiful gem stones
- nature is fun!
- knowledge
- a massive stuffed whale
- extinct animals
- to understand the the world better
- for the WOW factor
- intellectual curiosity
FOR RANGE:
different sections of the museum?
different zones
different target audience
I think with the quotes one I can really have a play with words and language
Other than the quotes I can use stuff like puns, sayins, facts about the exhibitsm facts about the museum etc.
