Experimental 3D Click

I wanted to animate some 3-dimensional type on After Effects and found that it was pretty hard. I could import 3d looking type from illustrator but I couldn't animate it or alter the actual 3D type. So, I looked up some techniques and you can actually animate 3 dimensional type using the 'shatter' effect.

apply the effect to a solid colour and use the 'custom' shape which is the type layer. and stop the effects from actually occuring but you can alter the extrusion depth of the type
